Jon and Darren come out on top both days
Another great weekend in this great venue, 26 of the best disability players in Britain competing in 2 tournaments , The Classic and The Open
The Classic Standing worked its way through the Round Robin phase with some great performances, during the Knockout phase Jon Hirst was too strong and went on the win the final 4-3 against Lee Dagnall
The Classic Wheelchair also had some close matches in the Round Robin stage and ended up with a Final of Darren Kennish v Gavin Hibbert , Darren winning 4 – 0
Sundays event was The Lakes Open for both Standing and Wheelchair categories. These tournaments went with the players in form. We again had the same finalists as Saturday, Jon and Darren again came out on top . Jon in the Final 4-1 and Darren beat Gavin 4 – 1.
A special mention for Darren, as well as winning both tournaments this weekend he also managed that elusive 170 finish in his game against “The Beast” Butler , Fantastic achievement.
