BDDA WHEELCHAIR RANKING TABLE EVENT No7

Chelmsford July 2025

The seventh ranking tournament weekend of the 2024-25 season.

Day one seen players compete for The David Silva Essex Shield on a sweltering, muggy, humid  weekend in Chelmsford.

In the group stage we had two tough groups, group 1 it was blow for blow with players taking wins against each other, but Mick jones 1st and Vinnie 2nd taking them through to the semi finals.

In group 2 we seen Jurgen Vercammen topping the group and Steve Plimley taking second spot to book his place in the semi finals.

In the semi finals  Steve was too strong for Mick and took a 3-1 victory and Vinnie was a 3-0 win over Jurgen.

In the final it was tense and nervy for both players as the game went all the way to the deciding leg, in which the life long Everton fan, Steve Plimley, held his breath as he hit the winning double to win 4-3 and take the Title of David Silva Essex Shield 2025.

Day two  players competed for the David Silva Essex Cup.

In group 1 it was Vinnie taking top spot winning all his games and Steve taking second place.

in group 2 it Gavin who won all his games taking 1st place and Jurgen taking second place and going through to the semi finals.

In the semis Vinnie was taken to a deciding leg by Jurgen but Vinnie again booked his place in the final with a 3-2 win, in the other semi final  Steve ran out 3-0 winner over Gavin and making it a repeat of the final from day 1.

In the final with both players missing doubles Steve was the stronger and won the match 4-2 and making it a double victory for the weekend and took the David Silva Essex Cup.

Thanks as always goes to the committee for another weekend of darts.
